What is a pledge?

A pledge is a financial commitment for a specific fiscal year which enables us to plan sustainably. At the beginning of the year, you indicate what amount you plan to give to the Cathedral during the year. Many parishioners fulfill their pledge weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Some set up a regular payment schedule by bank transfer or credit card.

Why pledge when I can put money in the collection plate?

Pledges, currently accounting for 40% of our funding, are vital revenue for the maintenance and operation of the Cathedral and its programs. We do not receive financial support from the National Episcopal Church, the French government, or any other entity. Our operating budget is based on the amount of pledges we receive each year.

How much should I give?

Scripture encourages proportionate giving, with the scriptural tithe (10% of one’s income) as a goal. However, the amount you pledge is up to you, and can increase or decrease as your financial situation allows. No pledge is too small.

What payment methods does the Cathedral accept?

We welcome payments via cash, card, bank transfer, check, or even gifts of appreciated stock. We welcome payments in both Euros (€) and US Dollars ($).

Is my pledge tax deductible?

In France, donors to the Cathedral receive an income tax credit equal to 66% of the amount of a donation, for contributions up to 20% of their total taxable income. Donors may instead choose to take a deduction for their contribution in the US to the extent permitted by US tax law and may request a US receipt. Please contact our Treasurer for more information.

Please consult your tax advisor to confirm how these rules apply to your situation. Donation receipts will be sent to donors during the first quarter of the following year.

How do I pledge?

Making a pledge is easy. Please click on the button below and fill out our secure online pledge form. An email and physical address is required to issue a donation receipt for tax purposes. Your personal information will remain strictly confidential.

If you are planning to pay your pledge by credit card, please make your pledge in euros even if you are using a US credit card. (convert the dollar amount to euros on the form)

⚠️ Please note that couples that pledge together should submit their pledge information under one email address.
